About
Waters Edge Consulting provides project development and management services to enhance riparian habitats, mitigate fire risk, and support ecosystem and community resilience. We partner with agencies, municipalities, NGO’s, and contractors utilizing the diverse expertise of natural resource managers and community organizers to implement restoration projects on public and private lands. Waters Edge also works together with landowners to help meet their ecological, fire safety, and aesthetic needs.
Waters Edge founder Niki Del Pizzo has over 20 years of experience working in southern Oregon’s streamside ecosystems. From 2006 to 2022, she served as Riparian Restoration Manager for Lomakatsi Restoration Project, a nationally recognized nonprofit that aims to restore Oregon and northern California forests and watersheds. While at Lomakatsi, Niki developed ecological prescriptions, developed and managed project budgets, procured grants, and oversaw the long-term stewardship of restoration sites. She directed workforce operations, trained youth crews, and oversaw project maintenance and monitoring. Niki was also Lomakatsi’s Education Director, developing field-based education events for students and community volunteers. She has co-authored several riparian technical documents.
Niki received a Bachelor of Science in Health, Policy, and Administration from Penn State University. After briefly working in the healthcare industry, she discovered her passion for ecosystem health and redirected her career path. Throughout her career, Niki has utilized her ecological knowledge, communication expertise, and technical writing skills to further partner collaboration, project management, and community education. This layered experience and deep appreciation for Oregon’s streamside forests has led her to Waters Edge.
